A record 67 Orlando companies made it to the Inc. 5000 list this year. The Inc. 5000 list measures the fastest growing private companies in America. Orlando’s presence on this list has increased over the last two years, with 56 companies in 2015 and 61 companies in 2016. Orlando also surpassed metros including Kansas City (40), Portland (62) and Nashville (53).
The Air Travel Group topped the Orlando list and cracked the Inc 100 list, ranked at 63 with 5,378.80% growth. The company, led by UCF Rosen College of Hospitality graduate Eric Peterson, operates an online platform to help clients manage group air contracts. Orlando welcomed 68 million visitors to the region this year, so it is not a surprise that two of the top five Orlando companies on the list were from the travel and hospitality industries.
Also at the top of the list included VALiNTRY, an IT services company in Lake Mary as well as GRA CPA, LiveTrends Design Group, and Teeming Vacation Rentals. XYMOGEN, a family-owned health sciences company headquartered in Orlando, celebrated 10 years on the list, hitting $91.2 million in revenue. Other notable companies in the health sector also celebrated anniversaries on the list, including CollaborateMD, Noble and NPE hitting five years of fast growth.
Another sector heavily represented included services to the large military and defense presence in Orlando, with companies like Orion Technologies, PowerDMS, Victor 12, INNOVATIVE REASONING, AMTIS, Engineering and Computer Solutions, AKT Enterprises and Loyal Source Government Services all making the list.
