The Orlando Economic Partnership’s 2025 legislative priorities are a roadmap for a thriving, globally competitive region. Read more and join the conversation on shaping Orlando’s future.

Orlando is more than a world-renowned destination — it is a dynamic region poised to lead in innovation, technology, and economic growth. To unlock our full potential, we must align public policy with our vision for a globally competitive region where talent thrives, businesses invest, and communities prosper. The Orlando Economic Partnership’s 2025 legislative priorities are central to achieving this future.

Transportation: Connecting Opportunity
A robust, connected transportation network is vital for sustained economic growth. Securing full funding for FDOT’s Five-Year Work Program, advancing the Sunshine Corridor, and expanding SunRail will not only ease mobility but also attract businesses seeking accessible markets. Extending I-4 express lanes and preserving right-of-way for future rail connections between Orlando and Tampa will enhance regional connectivity, making Orlando a premier hub for commerce and talent.

Housing: Increasing Housing Supply
A thriving economy requires diverse and affordable housing options. By supporting the full allocation of Florida’s Sadowski Fund and empowering local governments and developers, we ensure that Orlando remains an attractive destination for talent across all income levels. Addressing housing supply is critical to maintaining our region’s momentum and ensuring broad-based prosperity.

Education: Fueling a Skilled Workforce
Education is the cornerstone of economic competitiveness. Our support for UCF’s $75 million request to scale engineering and technology programs will produce 25,000 graduates annually in high-demand fields, meeting Florida’s workforce needs. Additionally, supporting the Florida College System’s request for $200 million in new recurring dollars distributed through the established funding formula for the program fund and investments in Seminole State College’s Workforce, Science, and Technology Center will strengthen the talent pipeline essential for our region’s high-tech industries.

Economic Development: Driving Long-Term Growth
Sustained economic development requires strategic investments. Supporting the Job Growth Grant Fund, infrastructure development, and workforce training programs will create high-quality jobs and stimulate long-term prosperity. Promoting Florida as a top global travel destination and supporting place-based development, such as Lift Orlando’s neighborhood revitalization efforts, ensures growth that benefits all residents.

A Shared Vision for Success
These legislative priorities are more than policy goals — they represent a roadmap for Orlando’s future as a global creative capital. By working together with business leaders, elected officials, and the community, we can continue building a region defined by innovation, opportunity, and inclusive growth. The decisions we make in 2025 will shape Orlando for generations to come. Let’s make them count.
