As Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the Orlando Economic Partnership, Laureen is responsible for developing digital and traditional marketing and communications strategies to raise awareness of the Partnership’s business and community development efforts and Orlando’s status as a top business location. With more than 20 years of experience in journalism and communications, Laureen is also an accredited public relations professional (APR).
The collaboration aims to help employers in the Orlando region hire more effectively and create more opportunities for jobseekers by providing training in skills-based practices through the Skillful Talent Series.
The program provides lump-sum, matching grants up to $10,000 from a total pool of $65,000 to help organizations and companies develop tech-focused events that will unite the local tech workforce and community.
The grants will fund two initiatives, including the new regional talent strategy called UpSkill Orlando and BRACE (Business Recovery Assistance and Collaborative Engagement) to support economic recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Solai & Cameron Technologies and its subsidiary, Novatio Solutions, a software company that focuses on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) industry, is relocating its headquarters and training center operations from Chicago to the City of Orlando, creating 200 new high-wage jobs for the region.
The Orlando Tech Council will be comprised of private industry, resource organizations and public partners who will develop new programs with the core objective to strengthen the region’s innovation resources.
