BNY Mellon is deepening its roots in the Orlando region, underscoring the area’s growing reputation as a hub for global business, innovation, and talent. The global financial services firm recently celebrated the expansion of its Lake Mary office and announced a new Pegasus Partnership with the University of Central Florida (UCF)—a dual investment that connects talent development, technology, and opportunity in powerful new ways.
At its Lake Mary campus, BNY Mellon now occupies more than 300,000 square feet of modern workspace designed to support collaboration and growth. The expansion reflects the company’s confidence in the region’s talent pipeline and business climate. As Brad Ockene, Lake Mary Site Executive, noted, “There are more than 200,000 students graduating within a four- to five-hour drive from this space.”
The fact that UCF is the second-largest public university in the country—and so many people here are UCF graduates—that is a fantastic pipeline for us.”

That same pipeline inspired BNY’s new five-year, $5 million Pegasus Partnership with UCF, which will create an 8,400-square-foot Next-Gen Client Technology and Operations Center Lab inside UCF’s former Global building. The lab will host programs taught by BNY experts and offer students hands-on experience in areas such as cybersecurity, programming, and the intersection of business and technology. The partnership is designed to strengthen workforce readiness while fueling the region’s innovation ecosystem.
“Recruiting people is expensive,” said UCF President Dr. Alexander Cartwright.
When companies know we have exceptional people already, the job becomes keeping them here in Florida.”

UCF President
BNY joins a growing list of Pegasus Partners—including Addition Financial, AdventHealth, Orlando Health, Nemours Children’s Health, Lockheed Martin, and Siemens Energy—that are embedding themselves in UCF’s talent ecosystem to align education with the skills employers need most.
The OEP also places BNY Mellon at the forefront of a broader regional strategy: fostering collaboration between higher education and industry to drive inclusive growth. This emphasizes how Orlando’s economic future is being built at the intersection of innovation, education, and opportunity.
With nearly one in four Orlando residents born overseas and close to 300 international companies operating in the region, BNY’s expansion and investment reflect a global trend toward businesses choosing Orlando as a base for growth and creativity. From financial technology to aerospace and medical innovation, the region continues to attract companies looking for a world-class workforce and a community aligned around opportunity.
BNY Mellon’s expanded presence in Lake Mary and its partnership with UCF demonstrate the power of regional collaboration—and reaffirm Orlando’s position as one of the world’s next great creative and connected global economies.
