Businesses in Orlando Uniting Around Branding Campaign

Orlando, Fla.– The campaign to highlight Orlando as more than a great place to vacation, but also an amazing place to live and work is gaining support from the business community in the form of financial and in-kind contributions. The “Orlando. You don’t know the half of it®” campaign brands the region and showcases assets in an effort led by the Orlando Economic Development Commission (Orlando EDC).

Even celebrities are getting on board. Orlando Magic Hall of Fame honoree Shaquille O’Neal, Orlando City Soccer Midfielder Ricardo Kaká, Orlando Solar Bears Forward Scott Tanski and golf icon Arnold Palmer all lent their image to the campaign by recording the slogan on video. The Mall at Millennia recently began displaying the video ad on giant, multi-panel, high-resolution screens in the mall’s center court. The video, created by CYBIS using the branding concept crafted by Anson-Stoner, highlights Orlando’s innovations and amenities and showcases some of the regions many strengths to visitors and residents alike.

“Although the campaign looks to put Orlando in the consideration set as a place for businesses to expand or potentially locate, our research found that even many of our residents aren’t aware of all of the amazing things happening right here,” said Rick Weddle, president and CEO of the Orlando EDC. “Thanks to our branding partners, who are providing both financial support and invaluable in-kind donations, we have even more avenues to show residents and visitors the half of Orlando they may not know.”

When individuals attend Orlando Magic, Orlando City Soccer and Orlando Solar Bears games they will see the new business brand on the stadium sports screens and displayed along the field/courtside walls. A LYNX bus, wrapped in the business brand, is on the road in Orlando, while patients and visitors to Florida Hospital will see the ad played in rooms and lobbies. Highwoods Properties is rotating a pop-up banner with the branding message displayed in the lobbies of seven of its downtown Orlando properties. The Canaveral Port Authority unveiled two containers with the regional business branding message that can be tracked going around the world to different countries and ports. The Orange County Convention Center and Orlando International Airport are running the regional business branding TV ad on their digital monitors for visitors and residents alike. A digital version is also displayed on Clear Channel Outdoor billboards and Hyatt guests will view the ad on their hotel room televisions.
