Orlando, Fla.CACI International Inc. (NYSE: CACI) opened a new manufacturing facility in Orlando for the development and production of optical communications technology. The site expands CACI’s presence in Florida and provides the company with easy access to Florida’s Space Coast. The company is investing in the new facility and plans to create dozens of new, specialty engineering jobs.

“We are excited to expand our presence in Orlando because of the density of technical talent in the region, including the specialized workforce produced by the region’s history in aerospace and defense as well as proximity to one of the largest universities in the country, the University of Central Florida (UCF).”

Todd Probert, President of National Security and Innovative Solutions at CACI

The new, 13,000 square-foot facility expands CACI’s presence and is designed and built as a high-volume U.S.-based manufacturer of laser communications for national security and commercial space missions. The new facility features a Class 8 clean room and Optical Engineering Lab ready for production. The first technology being produced at the site are CrossBeam-200 Optical Inter Satellite Link (OISL) Terminals that will connect satellites in orbit to transfer data in space.

“CACI’s decision to expand its manufacturing in Orange County further solidifies our status as the leading location for technology providers to the aerospace and defense sector, and especially optics and photonics technologies.”

Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings

CACI has decades of leadership in photonic design services, product development, and delivery of Free-Space Optical Communication solutions and LiDAR sensing solutions. CACI acquired SA Photonics in December 2021. The companies’ combined capacity and performance positions CACI as the leading U.S.-based provider for space, airborne, and terrestrial missions.

“CACI’s decision to expand into the Orlando region represents the recent trend of companies from the West Coast choosing to relocate here due to the ease of doing business, robust talent pool, burgeoning defense industry cluster and connections to the commercial space industry.”
