Easy Foods Opens New Food Manufacturing Plant

Osceola County, Fla.  Easy Foods, Inc., a producer of corn and flour tortillas, chips and other snack products, unveiled its new, 97,000-square-foot production facility in Osceola County on Monday. Built in the Poinciana Industrial and Office Park, the $14 million manufacturing plant is a state-of-the-art facility with research and development capabilities that enhances the production of the company’s products.

“A location in Osceola County allows us to establish a high-tech operation with room to grow,” said William Isaias, president of Easy Foods. “The new facility will allow Easy Foods to triple its capacity to serve markets in the U.S. and internationally.”

The company currently employs 150 people and plans to hire an additional 75 people over the next three years with above average wages bringing the total number of employees to 225.

“The Enterprise Florida Board is proud that Easy Foods has chosen to expand in Florida. Congratulations on this exciting announcement and thank you for continuing to invest in Florida families,” said Enterprise Florida Board of Directors Vice-Chairman Joe York.

“Easy Foods is a great addition to our business community and our growing food-related cluster,” said Commissioner Viviana Janer, who was chair of GOPEP when it assisted Easy Foods in locating to Osceola. “We’re proud to be able to bring in a family-oriented company that plans to grow its business here for many years, offering our citizens more employment opportunities.”

Easy Foods outgrew its location in South Florida then began considering locations in Maryland, North Carolina and Georgia before selecting Osceola County. The location allows the company to be closer to suppliers and provides easy access to rail lines.

Enterprise Florida, Osceola County, the Orlando Economic Partnership (The Partnership), Duke Energy and Toho Water were all partners on the efforts to assist Easy Foods in its site selection and provided services that allowed the company to ramp up construction and operations quickly.

“We welcome Easy Foods to the Orlando region,” said Partnership President and CEO Tim Giuliani. “This grand opening highlights a growing trend in our region as more companies are choosing to develop and manufacture products here, creating high-value jobs that support the overall prosperity of our community.”

Construction on Easy Foods’ new production and packaging plant began in 2016. The family-owned business first began production in 2005.

“This is a wonderful facility and I think the company has a lot to offer our community,” said Commissioner Peggy Choudhry, whose district is home to the facility. “It’s exciting to see that our hard work to expand employment options is paying dividends.”
