Orange County, Fla. – IRadimed Corporation, a pioneering leader in MRI patient care and medical device innovation, will expand within Orange County in the Orlando region, creating 160 new jobs. The company is building a state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot facility at the Central Florida Research Park, a hub for Orlando’s billion-dollar modeling, simulation, and training industry. Located at 12705 Ingenuity Drive, it will mark a significant investment in the region’s economic and technological landscape.

After more than a decade of double-digit growth, IRadimed has outgrown its current facility. As the company continues to innovate and expand its medical device product lineup, the new state-of-the-art facility will offer the extra space needed for its expanding team and improve manufacturing capabilities. This relocation will enable IRadimed to accelerate product shipments and ensure faster delivery to customers.

The new jobs pay an average wage of $85,000, 31 percent higher than the county average. IRadimed’s $20 million investment in its new facility reflects the company’s confidence in the area’s potential to support its growth and innovation objectives.

The upgraded workspace includes a cutting-edge engineering lab that will support IRadimed’s ongoing innovation efforts and the development of groundbreaking medical devices. This move represents a significant milestone for IRadimed, underscoring the company’s commitment to achieving its growth targets while advancing the field of medical technology.

“IRadimed has established itself as a trailblazer in developing MRI-compatible medical devices,” said Roger Susi, founder, president and CEO of IRadimed.

With roots deeply embedded in Central Florida, we design, manufacture, market, and distribute a range of MRI-compatible medical devices and accessories. We are thrilled to continue our work in the Orlando region and offer top-notch services to our community and our team.”

Susi’s contributions to the MRI patient monitoring field through Invivo Research and IRadimed have been pivotal in cultivating high-tech medical device careers in Central Florida.

IRadimed distinguishes itself as the only known provider of non-magnetic intravenous (IV) infusion pump systems and non-magnetic patient vital sign monitors specifically designed for safe use during MRI procedures. These groundbreaking products have addressed significant safety concerns, allowing a wider range of patients to undergo MRI exams, thereby facilitating quicker and more accurate diagnoses and treatments.

The decision to expand in Orlando was driven by the area’s rich pool of high-quality talent and the strategic benefits of its vibrant research and innovation ecosystem.  The new positions will span multiple departments, including manufacturing assembly, warehouse, engineering, service repair, and business operations, covering areas such as finance, accounting, customer service, and purchasing.

This diverse range of opportunities reflects IRadimed’s commitment to supporting both general skilled labor and specialized, niche skillsets necessary for their business operations. The expansion highlights IRadimed’s ongoing dedication to growth and innovation in the medical device industry, reinforcing Orange County’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and technology.

“We are thrilled to welcome IRadimed to Orange County,” said Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings.

“Their significant investment in our community, including high-wage job creation and the construction of a state-of-the-art facility, highlights our dedication to fostering innovation and driving economic growth.”

IRadimed’s expansion is a testament to the Orlando region’s appeal as a premier destination for companies seeking a dynamic environment for growth. IRadimed’s presence enhances our region’s reputation as a leader in medical technology and provides valuable opportunities.

Iradimed continues to innovate with key products, including the Iradimed 3860+ Non-Magnetic IV Infusion Pump System, the world’s first and only provider of non-magnetic IV infusion pumps designed for MRI use. Additionally, the Iradimed 3600 Ferrous Metal Detector with TruSense Technology is a novel device to detect ferrous items before entering the MRI room, reducing the risk of projectile incidents and alarm fatigue.

“This is a significant milestone for our region. IRadimed is creating new high-wage jobs, and solidifying our standing as a hub for medical innovation and technology. The OEP’s team played a crucial role in facilitating this expansion by assisting with navigating the regulatory landscape, coordinating with local government agencies, and expediting the approval process for necessary permits,” said Tim Giuliani, President and CEO, Orlando Economic Partnership.

“We are proud to support IRadimed’s growth and excited about the positive impact it will have on our local economy and community.”

ABOUT IRADIMED

IRADIMED CORPORATION is a leader in developing innovative Magnetic Resonance Imaging (“MRI”) compatible medical devices. We design, manufacture, market, and distribute MRI-compatible medical devices and accessories, disposables, and related services.

We are the only known provider of a non-magnetic intravenous (“IV”) infusion pump system specifically designed to be safe for use during MRI procedures. We were the first to develop an infusion delivery system that largely eliminates many of the dangers and problems present during MRI procedures. Standard infusion pumps contain magnetic and electronic components that can create radio frequency interference and are dangerous to operate in the presence of the powerful magnet that drives an MRI system. Our patented MRidium® MRI compatible IV infusion pump system has a non-magnetic ultrasonic motor, uniquely designed non-ferrous parts, and other special features to safely and predictably deliver anesthesia and other IV fluids during various MRI procedures. Our pump solution provides a seamless approach that enables accurate, safe, and dependable fluid delivery before, during, and after an MRI scan, which is important to critically ill patients who cannot be removed from their vital medications and children and infants who must generally be sedated to remain immobile during an MRI scan.

Our 3880 MRI-compatible patient vital signs monitoring system has been designed with non-magnetic components and other special features to safely and accurately monitor a patient’s vital signs during various MRI procedures. The IRadimed 3880 system operates dependably in magnetic fields up to 30,000 gauss, which means it can operate virtually anywhere in the MRI scanner room. The IRadimed 3880 has a compact, lightweight design, allowing it to travel with the patient from their critical care unit to the MRI and back, resulting in increased patient safety through uninterrupted vital signs monitoring and decreasing the amount of time critically ill patients are away from critical care units. The features of the IRadimed 3880 include wireless ECG with dynamic gradient filtering; wireless SpO2 using Masimo® algorithms; non-magnetic respiratory CO2; invasive and non-invasive blood pressure; patient temperature, and optional advanced multi-gas anesthetic agent unit featuring continuous Minimum Alveolar Concentration measurements. The IRadimed 3880 MRI-compatible patient vital signs monitoring system has an easy-to-use design and allows for the effective communication of patient vital signs information to clinicians.
