The Orlando Regional Chamber congratulates Orlando Credit Union for being selected as the Member of the Month for February, 2020.

Orlando Credit Union

Founded in 1936, the Orlando Credit Union has maintained a company-wide mission to be “not for profit, not for charity, but for service.” With more than 5,000 nationwide locations and 80,000 surcharge-free ATMs, convenience has never been easier for its 25,000 members. The Credit Union recently moved its Westmorland Drive location, one of seven branches across the Orlando region, to the SoDo district in order to be more centrally located.

“One of the biggest challenges financial institutions face is making it easy for members to access their accounts,” said Amanda Ramsburg, manager of Business Development at Orlando Credit Union.

“Besides our branch locations, Orlando Credit Union has many ways to make it easy for our members including a full online suite of services and surcharge-free access to ATMs all over the country.”

Bringing innovative solutions is a big focus the not-for-profit’s commitment to convenience. When replacing its automated teller machines (ATM), Orlando Credit Union sought to stay ahead of the industry curve through innovation by implementing an Interactive Teller Machine, “Telly.” Telly functions similarly to FaceTime or Skype by connecting an actual teller from a remote location with the member using the ATM. This creates opportunity for the credit union to serve more members on a face-to-face level, all while using less space and producing higher levels of security. After hours, Telly functions as a normal ATM, making it a multi-use machine available for members whenever needed.

For its Orlando employees, progress is defined by more than organizational evolution. Committed to a “people helping people” philosophy, Orlando Credit Union has an annual goal of completing over 400 volunteer hours. The credit union is involved with numerous local charities and community wellness groups and most recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity, helping build and repair homes, and with United Against Poverty’s, stocking shelves of the subsidized grocery stores.

An Executive Connection level member of the Orlando Regional Chamber since December, 2016, Orlando Credit Union has demonstrated a commitment to going beyond “business as usual.” Thank you to Orlando Credit Union for its Chamber membership and its commitment to strengthen, support and advocate for businesses of all sizes and life cycles throughout the Orlando region.
