Orlando, Fla. – The Orlando Economic Partnership is now accepting nominations for the 2019 recipients of the James B. Greene and the Schwartz Innovation Awards to be announced at the Orlando Economic Partnership Annual Dinner later this year. These awards honor those who have made the greatest impact on the economy and community through innovation and service to the Orlando region.
James B. Greene was an Orlando businessman, dedicated civic leader and generous philanthropist who was known for his selfless service to the Orlando community. The James B. Greene Award honors his legacy by recognizing an individual who has exhibited similar qualities through community leadership that contributes to the Orlando region’s growth, quality of life and economic well-being.
Previous recipients of the James B. Greene Award include Jim Pugh, Chairman and CEO of Epoch Properties, William T. Dymond, Jr., CEO and President of Lowndes and Lars Houmann, President and CEO of the Florida Division of Adventist Health System.
William C. Schwartz was a pioneer in the field of laser technology and founded two companies in the Orlando region that advanced his field by creating first-of-its-kind products. The Schwartz Innovation Award honors his legacy by recognizing a company that has successfully created, developed and implemented innovative products, ideas and processes that have contributed to the region’s competitiveness and stimulates future advancements in Orlando.
Previous recipients of the Schwartz Innovation Award include Luminar Technologies, the University of Central Florida and Quality Manufacturing Services Inc.
