Message from the Orlando Tech Council Chair

Happy Friday, all.

Another little flurry of major media focused on the growth of Florida’s tech market.

This week, Orlando was recognized in a new study as the second-fastest growing market for tech wages, only behind Charlotte, N.C. As tech talent from across the globe migrates to the Orlando region, many of them are bringing with them the competitive tech salaries previously held exclusively by traditional tech hubs including San Francisco and Austin. According to Dice and as reported by Forbes, Orlando saw a tech salary increase of 13.4 percent between 2019 and 2020.

Additional headlines feature health-focused technology across an array of platforms. From whole-health care for professional gaming athletes to new readability technology with numerous life-changing implications, Orlando continues to be a leader in ground-breaking technologies with global implications. If you’re looking to be part of the health-tech movement, leAD Lake Nona Sports & Health Tech Academy are now accepting applications to their next cohort. You can read more on all of these stories below.

Stay tuned for more news, events, and ways to connect with the Orlando region’s tech and innovation economy. Also, feel free to share this newsletter with friends and colleagues who can get on our mailing list here.
