Sonesta to Establish New Corporate Offices in Downtown Orlando

Eighth Largest Hotel Company to Open New Orlando Office in June 2021

March 25, 2021 – NEWTON, MA – Sonesta International Hotels Corporation (Sonesta) announced it will establish a new corporate office in downtown Orlando in the Landmark Center One building at 315 East Robinson Street. The new office, which is roughly 18,000-square-feet and overlooks Lake Eola, is planned to house approximately 100 new Orlando-based Sonesta employees, and will feature a custom build out by building owner and landlord Highwoods Properties.

Among the many reasons we found Orlando to be the ideal location of our newest office, is the city’s massive pool of skilled hospitality talent and the ready abundance of air transport between Orlando and our corporate headquarters in Boston, MA.

Carlos Flores, President & CEO at Sonesta

“The decision was also in a larger part due to the highly cooperative and collaborative approach of the City of Orlando, which helped make The City Beautiful the ideal home for our latest corporate location,” said Carlos Flores, President & CEO at Sonesta. “We are eager to begin hiring immediately for the open roles available on Sonesta.com/careers.”

“In recent years, our city and its many partners have worked hard to diversify our economy, bring high-value jobs to Orlando, continue to grow our targeted industry sectors and accelerate downtown’s reputation as a place for headquarters and other businesses to relocate, expand and thrive,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

Sonesta’s decision to locate their new offices in downtown is a testament to the advancements we’ve made in achieving these goals and fostering a healthy business-friendly ecosystem, as well as a high quality of life for new talent locating in Orlando.

“Sonesta considered cities in Texas, Virginia and Florida for this new corporate office and chose Orlando for its talent and expertise in both tourism and financial services,” said Orlando Economic Partnership President and CEO Tim Giuliani.  “As America’s most loved destination, this is the ideal location for Sonesta to locate and there is no doubt that they will find the perfect talent to fill their new jobs. Sonesta’s decision is evidence that Orlando’s economic recovery is well underway, and our community is welcoming both new visitors and companies to our famed destination.”

Sonesta worked with the City of Orlando, CBRE, and the Orlando Economic Partnership in making the location decision and chose Orlando because of its depth of industry and talent. The City of Orlando and the Partnership assisted the company in securing approvals for the new STRIVE program and a Community Redevelopment Agency High Wage/High Value incentive. STRIVE was developed in conjunction with strategic recommendations from the Partnership to boost opportunities in economically challenged areas.

Sonesta, recently recognized as the eight largest hotel company by Skift following the acquisition of Red Lion Hotels Corporation earlier this month, currently manages two hotels in Orlando including:

  • Sonesta ES Suites International Drive located at 8480 International Drive dates to 2012
  • Sonesta ES Suites Lake Buena Vista located at 8751 Suiteside Drive (rebranded in 2020)
