February 9, 2016

Orlando, Fla.  Web Benefits Design, one of the nation’s largest employee benefits technology, communication and administration firms will expand and create a total of 200 new jobs, in addition to 40 existing jobs, and invest $8 million in the local community for the company’s new, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters.

Web Benefits Design helps employers administer and streamline employee healthcare and benefits programs through software and services tailored for each company’s offerings. The company was founded in 2001 and relocated to Orlando in 2005. They developed the first cloud-based employee benefits platform, and have grown into one of the largest providers in the country over the past 15 years.

“Web Benefits Design is experiencing tremendous growth locally and nationally” says Ron Schenk, CEO. “Orlando has great technology talent and a deep pool of skilled employee prospects. As a technology company, we are only as good as the employees that represent us in the market. We are excited about our new technology center investment as the foundation to continue to build our company, add jobs, and assist all Florida employers with their employee benefit needs.”

The Web Benefits Design expansion was made possible through partnerships between The Orlando Economic Development Commission, the City of Orlando, the University of Central Florida, Valencia College, CareerSource Florida, and CareerSource Central Florida.

“Web Benefits Design was started 15 years ago and grew into a company with more than 50 current employees offering services to hundreds of businesses across the country,” said Rick Weddle, Orlando EDC president and CEO. “I congratulate them for following a dream and creating a thriving company with a focus on business services and innovative technologies that provide a plethora of programs to their clients.”

“Web Benefits Design’s success speaks to the City of Orlando’s talented workforce, business climate and high quality of life,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer; “We are proud that Web Benefits Design calls our City home and look forward to seeing their continued success through this expansion and beyond.”

As part of the project, CareerSource Florida has offered Web Benefit Design performance-based grants for employee training through the Quick Response Training program. Quick Response Training grants are structured to be flexible and responsive to the training needs of new or expanding businesses.

“CareerSource Florida applauds Web Benefits Design for its market-leading innovation and its continued growth in Florida,” said CareerSource Florida President and CEO Chris Hart IV. “Through our nationally recognized training grant programs, we help businesses in information technology and many other industries quickly upskill new hires and existing employees to boost competitiveness; and we love to hear success stories like Web Benefits Design’s.”
