Hometown pride. That’s something Jarrod Dillon, President of Business Operations for the Orlando City Soccer Club, the Orlando Pride, and INTER&Co Stadium said Orlando has a lot of.

People that live here, whether you’re from here originally or whether you have relocated here, really get behind their hometown teams.

Dillon joined the Orlando City & Pride family in 2022 after relocating with his family from Tampa. He said he was familiar with Orlando but hadn’t spent much time here.

“My family and I, my wife and three daughters, we were living in Tampa for almost seven years, so we got over to Orlando a decent number of times. With a young family you can imagine a lot of that was to see our great partners at Disney and to take in the parks, do that type of thing,” Dillon said.

He said since moving, his family has settled in and loves exploring the region.

“It’s been amazing just getting to know all the different neighborhoods and all the different parts of Orlando. I think it’s a hidden gem in terms of U.S. cites.

“Everybody knows us because we’re obviously the biggest tourist destination in the U.S. But to live here every day and to get to know the actual culture, the people and everything going on in the community has just been a real blessing for my family and I,” he said.

He adds what he truly appreciates about Orlando is how diverse the community is.

“There’s always something new to do, new food to try, people to meet. It’s just a melting pot and I love that for our community,” he said.

Dillon relocated to Orlando after he was hired by Orlando City & Pride to oversee the overall strategic business operations of each of the Club’s properties, including Orlando City SC, the Orlando Pride, and INTER&Co Stadium. He joined during an exciting time for Orlando sports, including the city hosting the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and the Pro Bowl in downtown Orlando on the same weekend, as well as announcing a new stadium partnership with Brazilian financial super app INTER&Co.

The Sports Business Journal recently unveiled its 2024 Best Sports Business Cities, ranking Orlando as the No. 1 destination for attracting and hosting events. This recognition is a testament to the Orlando region’s world-class venues, our diverse and talented workforce, as well as our vibrant and resilient community.

Dillon said the region’s success in becoming a premier sports destination is because of partnerships.

“On the business side, it couldn’t be a better situation. You have incredible collaboration with the City of Orlando, Orange County, Osceola County and Seminole County working together alongside great organizations like the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, Visit Orlando, Orlando Economic Partnership, all of us working together to make this the best sports tourism destination in the United States,” he said.
