Manager of the Orange County Business Development Division Sheena Ferguson shares a detailed overview of how businesses can apply for Orange County CARES Small Business Grant Program.

The Guide To Thrive Webinar Series: Orange County Small Business Grant Program first installment in a series of webinars sharing guidance on how the Orlando regional small businesses can recover and thrive in this new economy.

In this webinar, Orlando Regional Chamber Executive Vice President John Davis hosts Manager of the Orange County Business Development Division Sheena Ferguson for a detailed overview of how businesses can apply for Orange County CARES Small Business Grant Program funding as well as eligibility requirements and required documentation.

The Orange County CARES Small Business Grant Program will distribute $72.9 million to 6,500 small businesses with grants up to $10,000 per business to help them overcome the temporary loss of revenue due to COVID-19. The application opens June 8 and details and eligibility information can be found here. Please note, to be eligible you must have not received funds covered by insurance or reimbursement from any federal program related to COVID-19, such as the Federal Payroll Protection Program (PPP).

Sheena Ferguson
Manager of the Business Development Division, Orange County Government
Sheena Ferguson is a Florida native who began her career with Orange County Government in 1998 as a Senior Contract Administrator within the Business Development Division. During her tenure in BDD she was promoted to Business Development Administrator and subsequently to her current position. Prior to joining Orange County, she worked on the Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom project with minority and women owned businesses.

Sheena focuses on Orange County’s mission of promoting the participation and award of contracts to minority and women owned firms. She also enjoys working with the more than four hundred certified Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) firms and Registered Service Disabled Veteran businesses so they can successfully obtain an opportunity to do business with Orange County Government.

Sheena is an alumna of Bethune-Cookman University and the University of Vermont. She has a passion for children and enjoys working with children in Seminole County Public School as a Dividend, a volunteer for youth ministry, children church, Youth Explosion, and teaching Sunday school. Professionally, she has served on several boards of director that focus on children and businesses. Sheena is the proud wife and mother of two children (junior at the University of Florida and a junior of Oviedo High School).
