Trevor Pruitt, manager of employer initiatives at Skillful – A Markle Foundation Initiative, shares an in-depth look at tactical skills-based hiring strategies employers can implement to help attract, hire and retain talent in Orlando.

The Orlando Economic Partnership’s top priority is to keep the business community informed and prepared and help individuals and organizations obtain the needed resources currently available as we all navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Responding to COVID-19 Webinar Series: Skills-Based Hiring – A Critical Strategy for Recovery is installment 13 of a series of webinars focused on sharing guidance on how best to respond to the realities of COVID-19.

Skills-based hiring can help fill jobs quickly, retain talent, diversify an organization’s talent pipeline and provide a greater awareness of skill attainment and critical upskilling needs. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, employers are turning to skills-based hiring to tap into the increasing talent availability created by layoffs and job losses.

In this webinar, Partnership Senior Director of Regional Talent Initiatives Danielle Permenter hosts Trevor Pruitt, manager of employer initiatives at Skillful – A Markle Foundation Initiative, for an in-depth conversation on the tactical skills-based hiring strategies employers can implement to help attract, hire and retain talent in Orlando. Partnership Director of Research Phoebe Fleming also joined the webinar to share how employers can use skill data to identify talent and pathways for upward mobility.

Skillful is a non-profit initiative of the Markle Foundation dedicated to helping all Americans, particularly those without a four-year college degree, secure good jobs in a changing economy through skills-based training.
